The escape door with convenience

Requirements:

The escape door must be accessible any time, but access without an authorised medium will trigger an alarm. The door must meet the fire protection requirements in accordance with El30 and standard SN EN 179 for escape route doors and be equipped in compliance with SN EN 13637 (transition period) for electrically controlled emergency exit systems in escape routes.

Outside:

Access is via the badge reader, which releases the escape door strike. Unlocking the lock is via the panic function by means of the door handle. In an escape situation, the emergency button on the escape door control terminal must be pushed in in order to release the escape door strike under alarm. The door can now be accessed by pressing the door handle. Intervention is via the mechanical cylinder. Acknowledgement of the alarm as well as single or long-term releases are made via the cylinder on the escape door control terminal. This should, however, remain reserved for the technical service or caretaker. Without current, the door opener is open and the door is accessible.

Inside:

When the door handle is pressed, the lock's handle contact signals an authorised opening at the escape door control terminal and releases the escape door strike. At the same time, the lock is unlocked by the panic function by pressing the door handle. In the event of a power outage, the escape door strike is released (quiescent power principle) and the door can be accessed by pressing the door handle. The certified fire door is equipped with a door closer.

General:

For this solution, a mechatronic self-locking panic lock with monitoring contacts is used. Door handle and cylinder contact on the lock are used for the release of the escape door strike.

Advantages:

  • With this solution, an exit button can be dispensed with, since the handle contact is used
  • Door monitoring can be activated
  • User-friendly (no incorrect manipulation is possible on the inside)
